EXCELLENT Based on 23 reviews nishi patel2024-08-13 We had a wonderful family holiday at chateau picol. The house is immaculately clean and the grounds and pool in particular are spectacular. Our children spent all day every day running and cycling around the garden and jumping in and out of the pool. Alla and Christian are wonderful hosts and quick to respond to any queries. We also took the opportunity for the catering option and the meal they cooked was delicious. The location is rural and you will definitely need a car but that just adds to the sense of peace. Highly recommend. david Mace2024-08-09 We had the most perfect holiday at Chateau Picol. Both the elegant house and extensive gardens with swimming pool were ideal for our family and the children had an amazing time.A big thank you to the lovely owners - Alla & Christian - who made us feel so welcome. Hilary Wilder2024-06-10 We have just returned from a wonderful week celebrating our golden wedding anniversary with our family, at this Chateau. The hosts were on site and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble plus they left a very nice welcome hamper with local produce. This chateau was absolutely beautiful with well kept grounds and amazing decor and furniture. The kitchen was especially well equipped and very clean. The bedrooms, all with facilities, were uniquely beautifully furnished and spacious with very comfortable beds. Despite the weather we made good use of the swimming pool, bicycles, table tennis and used the gas BBQ every day. The Chateau was ideally situated, just about 20 minutes walk from the village where there were several excellent bakeries and a farmers' market on Saturdays. There were also two large supermarkets just a short drive from the Chateau. We managed to squeeze in a visit to Futuroscope and La Vallee des Singes (not too long a drive away) which the grandchildren enjoyed and an afternoon spent in Poitiers. All in all a great way to celebrate with our family. Thank you Alla and Christian for letting us stay in your beautiful chateau and being such good hosts. Cédric TOPALIAN2024-06-07 A wonderful place, a warm welcome, an unforgettable stay c2c 9282024-05-25 We had a most memorable stay at Chateau Picol. We have no hesitation to recommend Chateau Picol to any prospective guests. Didier Parrot2023-11-13 A superb welcome from the hosts in a magnificent, peaceful setting surrounded by a large wooded park. A vast, well-decorated and comfortable room. A hearty breakfast An address to remember Alison Dunlop2023-09-26 Stunning property doesn't disappoint as you drive through the gates up the drive. Christian is super helpful such as helping me store and set up power for my E-bikes. The property is very comfortable and well equipped and the decor is honest to the Chateau's character and charm. The beds are all comfortable and the showers work well. The descriptions are accurate re pool, kitchen, seating areas and it was a joy listening to the owls in the evening. Would recommend for a large group. Tony A2023-09-03 We had a wonderful, multi-generational family holiday at Chateau Picol. The setting of the chateau is lovely and we particularly enjoyed the heated pool. The grandchildren loved it and spent most of their time in it. Thank you to Christian and Alla jo2023-08-14 We had a wonderful time at Chateau Picol with all our children and grandchildren. A really beautiful and peaceful place. The house was superbly equipped with everything we needed. Christian and Alla were perfect hosts; discreet but always readily available to help with anything. A lovely welcome basket of goodies when we arrived. The pool area was perfect; beautifully cleaned by Christian every morning and the grass surrounding it was perfect for the children to play safely. We spent many happy hours in and around the pool. We loved our bike rides to get bread and pastries in the mornings and there are plenty of lovely places to visit within an hour of Chateau Picol. A lovely holiday. Lovely hosts Alun Edwards2023-08-11 We have just returned to the UK after a fabulous week at Chateau Picol with our family, to celebrate my 70th birthday. Plenty of space for 3 families with 3 boisterous little boys. We could not have wished for more. It was a wonderful experience to have the family living in the Chateau with ample bedrooms and bathrooms for all. The chateau which is owned and lovingly looked after by Christian and Alla. They could not do enough to make sure our visit was memorable. Always discreet and always available if needed. We were greeted on arrival by Christian and Alla and given a hamper of local specialities. The chateau is beautifully decorated and adorned with antiques of the era. The kitchen is so well stocked, you can cook most things with a separate outside BBQ and terrace. The pool and veranda are probably one of the most delightful features having private use of this facility is a joy. It is cleaned daily by Christian and heated to keep it suitable for the little ones. We had booked a private chef (through Christian) for my birthday dinner and due to unforeseen circumstances, he was not available. So, in stepped Christian and Alla to cook an amazing five course banquet meal of special dishes which you would not find in any restaurant in France or the UK. They delivered and served the food as well. An amazing effort by them and a triumph all round. A night to remember. We purchased wines from Domaine de Villemont, Mirebeau, just a few miles away and worth a visit. We had lunch at Restaurant du Champ de Foire in Lencloitre. Amazing food and great value for money. A daily trip to the bakery for the chocolate croissants and bread is a must. We wish Chrisitan and Alla great success with the Chateau and we can highly recommend you stay here.
